The core features of our software are offered under the "mode" menu. Here's what you can do:
Works with Windows and Macintosh!
- Take attendance. Take attendance by scanning one barcode I.D. per student. Software will optionally keep track of past tardies. See a sample barcode I.D. taped to a student's notebook.
- Give points. Assign points to a student by scanning their barcode I.D. and a barcode corresponding to a point value.
- Grade multiple choice assignment. Create barcoded "bubble" sheets your students use to answer your multiple choice assignment (or exam). Grade them by later scanning selected answers. All points, and right/wrong determination are handled by the software as you grade. Sample.
- Grading assistant. Imagine that you're hand-grading a stack of papers. As you grade, you call out to your assistant to "give student Robert Ricko 3 points for number 3 part b." Your assistant records the points, tallies them all up, and records them in your gradebook. All you do is focus on grading. Your barcode scanner and a bit of pre-planning achieve this goal (without the voice recognition, of course!).
- Grade one-scan quiz. Have your students each come to class with a single barcode that encodes their name and answers for up to 10 multiple choice questions. You scan them as they walk in the door. Their names are noted, attendance is taken, their answers are graded and recorded. Instantly. Try it.
- High resolution grading. Have a stack of papers to grade? Give your students unprecedented grading detail when you grade their work - Saving time versus your "colored-pen" grading approach - Stop writing repetitive comments on your students' papers. Instead, scan from a barcoded list of "grading themes" you have compiled, as you spot errors in your students' work. Software handles all record keeping as you scan.
- Check In/Check Out. Have a small classroom library? Barcode each book. This mode will allow you to keep track of who has what checked out.
- Scan freely. See a barcode? Scan it! The software will keep track of what you scanned. So? Create your own barcodes for things you like to keep track of in class: confused concepts, ringing cell phones, sleepy students, etc.
- Track students. Keep track of what individual students are doing. Forgotten homework? Late to class? Participated in class? Talking out of turn? Playing with their cell-phone? etc.
